Lucy (submitted on September 20th, 2007) Five years ago I was blessed to adopt my little Lucy from the Marquette County Humane Society. She had been caught in a trap and had to have her foot amputated. Up until now, she had been getting around quite well. However, her paw began to roll onto one side, causing her pain when she tried to enjoy a walk. Luckily for me, I have two friends who wouldn't give up on finding Lucy a better way of walking and they became successful in their search. On April 17th of this year, we went to see the staff at Wright and Filipis. Many staff members greeted us and were all smiles as they looked at her paw to see what could possibly be done for Lucy. In a matter of minutes, they made a decision and took action. One week later, Lucy was the lucky recipient of a prosthesis. She is now able to walk with a normal gate and do it without having pain. They have no idea how happy it makes my heart to see Lucy with new life in her thanks to their willingness to help her. Thank you, Wright and Filipis from the very bottom of my heart!! You are very special people!!
