'UPAWS Board President Reva Laituri signs a purchase agreement for 20 acres of land on the north end of the Marquette County Fair Grounds. Also in the picture are Joan Mulder, seated, UPAWS Treasurer; James Goriesky, Marquette County Fair Board President, and Andi Goriesky, of Select Realty. UPAWS current shelter in Negaunee Township is close to 40 years old and too small to truly serve the 1,600 shelter pets cared for each year.'
