What's Happening at the Shelter?
Strut Your Mutt 2009 - Record Breaking Success!The Marquette County Humane Society Fourth Annual "Strut Your Mutt" 2009 Benefit Walk for Homeless Animals held Saturday, September 6th at Mattson Lower Harbor Park was a HUGE Success thanks to the outstanding support from our wonderful community!Dogs and their people pals enjoyed a morning of socializing, food, contests, games, exercise and "dog-gone" fun! The power and compassion of our community almost $22,000 for the shelter! All the money raised goes to help sheltered pets find new loving homes. Prizes were awarded to the top pledge raisers
in each category: YOUTH:

2nd - Amanda Peterman $1015.27
3rd - Jessica Doney $405.00
ADULT:
1st - Lariena Van Strien $1512.55 (she did not accept prize)
2nd - Karlyn Rapport $1495.00
3rd - Linda Beck $1010.25
4th - Christopher Wommer $970 A big thank you for the outstanding work done by every single person who registered, raised pledges and/or donated pledges for event!

Without the support of our community the Marquette County Humane Society would not be able to do all it does for our homeless animals who cannot speak for themselves.
