Recently, Dr. Tim Hunt (Bayshore Veterinary Hospital) hosted a presentation from Dallas Seavey (winner of this yearÂ’s Iditarod) and invited UPAWS to attend.
Dallas talked about his Iditarod experience & answered questions from the audience. Raised in a mushing family, Dallas is the youngest musher ever to win the Iditarod.
He talked about the harsh conditions of the race, including temperatures to 50 below, encounters with angry moose, and the importance of caring for the welfare & health of his dogs.
The room was packed with people eager to ask questions about his experience. Dr. Hunt asked Dallas to sign some autographed pictures with donations coming to our shelter. Thanks Dr. Hunt & thanks Dallas! (Click an image to see a larger version...)
