July 4th Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash a Howling Success

Thirty-four runners and walkers from near and afar, accompanied by their dogs of various breeds, shapes, and sizes, participated in UPAWS’ Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash on July 4, 2012. The event was held in the cool of the morning, near the shore of Lake Superior, away from holiday noise and crowds. This was the Sunrise Dog Dash’s fourth year, but its first as a UPAWS event. All proceeds from participants’ entry fees will support UPAWS’ efforts to care for almost 2,000 homeless animals each year.
